Azamara to feature in new TV nature series

Azamara Club Cruises has long been a line associated with exploration, thanks to experiences like its immersive shore excursions, innovative Nights and Cool Places and AzAmazing Evenings. Well, it seems that Azamara’s spirit for adventure has not gone un-noticed by the powers that be in TV land, as it is set to feature in a brand-new show presented by wildlife enthusiast Nigel Marven, on UKTV’s Watch in May, entitled Cruise Ship Adventures.

In the show, Marven will embark on a number of Azamara’s Destination Immersion itineraries and introduce guests and crew alike to some of the incredible creatures which populate such diverse and incredible regions as Antarctica, the Caribbean, Central America, Scandinavia and India. One episode features the intrepid TV presenter and author on Azamara’s Buenos Aires to Antarctica voyage, on which he meets humpback whales and baby penguins. While on a Caribbean itinerary, he has a close encounter with both rare iguanas and sperm whales.

Azamara Managing Director for UK & Ireland, Richard Twynam, said: “We were thrilled to welcome Nigel on-board. Nigel’s enthusiasm for exploration and discovery goes hand-in-hand with the experiences we are committed to offering our guests and we hope that Cruise Ship Adventures will inspire culture-seekers to consider future adventures with us.”

Nigel Marven himself added: “Anyone who’s been on a cruise will be astounded by the peculiar creatures we encounter in visits to ports of call. The best bit was sharing my passion for wildlife –
taking Azamara’s captains, entertainers and guests on adventures with everything from puffins to pipefish, whales to woodpeckers and caecilians to sloths!”

The first episode of Cruise Ship Adventures airs on UKTV’S Watch in May but if you want to embark on your very own Azamara adventure, we have an excellent selection of itineraries available at SixStarCruises.co.uk.
