AzAmazing Evenings in the UK

We posted recently about Azamara hosting the first ever AzAmazing Evening in the UK, when the Azamara Journey visited Liverpool. This got us thinking – which other port cities in the UK could host such an event, and what would accurately reflect the culture of the destination within just one evening?

There’s so much that could be done in the Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh that it’s hard to choose, particularly when so much could so easily stray into the realms of stereotype. However Edinburgh Castle would be an exceptional venue for a live performance with Scottish music and performance arts always showcasing incredible talents.

Back into England and as a north-east lad at heart, I could reel off plenty of ideas for luxury excursions from the Port of Tyne at Newcastle, throughout Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Teesside and up into Northumberland.

My personal recommendation would be an evening spent on Holy Island, with a traditional choral performance, should the tide permit. Or perhaps a sunset wildlife cruise around the Farne Islands – something I experienced myself on my honeymoon, an incredible thing to try during the summer months.

And in the south, London is easily accessible from Southampton or Dover, so why not a night on the West End? It may seem cliché but it is so popular with good reason.

What would you recommend? What cultural experiences in the UK do you think lend themselves well to the prestige of an AzAmazing Evening? Leave your suggestions in the comments.
