Showing that it really is a line which knows the value of a good night’s sleep, Crystal Cruises has recently announced that it intends to introduce a number of hypoallergenic staterooms on-board the Crystal Serenity.
In a move which is certainly welcome news for allergy suffers, the line is introducing 70 Deluxe PURE staterooms to the luxury vessel during its scheduled ‘extreme makeover’ which will take place when it enters dry dock in November. A complete new accommodation category, the rooms are an industry first and are intended to offer passengers the most refreshing night’s sleep possible.
Explaining the benefits of the rooms, Phillip Ordever, Crystal Cruises’ Vice President of International Sales and Marketing, said: “Imagine returning to your room after a full day ashore in a bustling city such as Rome or Bangkok, and then slipping into your purified sanctuary of ultra-clean air and hypoallergenic bedding. For guests who suffer from allergies, have mild respiratory issues such as asthma or who simply desire a respite from the air quality in many cities, these staterooms will become a haven of fresh air – at no additional cost.”
During the scheduled November refit, Crystal Serenity’s existing AA balcony rooms will all undergo a seven-step purification process to remove allergens and reduce the risk of irritants, and an air purifier will be installed, which will remove 99.9 per cent of impurities from the air. Offered at no extra cost to passengers, the rooms will debut on November 27 and as of April next year, be designated ‘P1’ and ‘P2’ by the line.
Crystal cruises is partnering with PURE Marine Solutions – a sister company of PURE Global, a hospitality industry innovator in the field of creating allergy-friendly environments – to make the new staterooms available to its customers.
