We’ve had a couple of interesting news updates from Oceania Cruises in the past week so, rather than drip feed you them, you can read about both with this latest blog post, which begins by looking at the world cruise options in 2015.
Now, you might remember our blog post a little while ago now about the incredible 180-day world cruise that was taking place on the Insignia, travelling around the world. Well, that’s now sold out. If you missed out then it’s tough luck I’m afraid.
Kunal Kamlani, the president of Oceania Cruises, said “The first six-month voyage sold out in less than eight hours, leaving legions of our guests asking for another epic journey. Unlike conventional world cruises that commence in winter, the 180-Day World Odyssey starts in July, allowing us to create and deliver the most unique global-cruise itinerary ever offered.”
Again there will be a wealth of special tours, overnight stays and other extra touches to make this luxury world cruise truly stand out. Considering most of the world cruises offered by any cruise line begin in January, sailing in July already offers an experience that’s unrivalled.
Oceania Cruises refurbishment
And like I say, that’s not the only news to be announced this week. Again we’ve already posted about the planned refurbishment of the R-Class ships, but we’ve now got details on how the earmarked $50 million will be spent.
I won’t list everything as there is a lot, but the highlights include a complete redecoration of staterooms and suites, including brand new furnishings in the Penthouse, Owner’s and Vista Suites, complete refurbishments of the Terrace Café, Horizons and the main lounges, the addition of the Baristas coffee bar, revamped steam and changing rooms in the spa and a rebuilt sports deck to include new deck games, a mini golf course and shuffleboard courts.
Again Kamlani had a soundbite quote to add, where he said “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to incorporate many of the best features and interior design elements from our acclaimed Marina and Riviera to Regatta, Insignia and Nautica. Not only does it enrich and enhance the guest experience, it underscores our commitment to providing our guests with a consistently outstanding experience across the entire fleet.”
So there we have it. The refurbishments being carried out by Oceania Cruises on the Regatta, Insignia and Nautica will all be complete in the first half of 2014, well in advance of the Insignia’s world cruises in 2015. The last one sold out very quickly, so if you’re interested then you need to make sure you secure your place as soon as possible.
