Paul Gauguin Cruises’ Culinary Excursions

Knowing only too well that fine food and fine wine are the perfect accompaniment to any ultra-luxury cruise, Paul Gauguin Cruises is offering a feast of culinary and wine-centric shore excursions on a number of European voyages throughout the year. Just the thing for foodies and budding sommeliers, these excursions will be offered on a number of seven-night voyages operated by the M/V Tere Moana.

Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:

Italy
Take a Lipari Island tour and try your hand at pizza-making, or enjoy an olive oil tasting lunch in the Splendido hotel in Portofino. You can also travel to Taormina, from where you can explore Catania, Sicily, where one of the region’s oldest markets can be found or taste the region’s wines on a sampling tour.

Croatia
Explore some of Croatia’s finest red wine cellars, such as the Milos Winery and Grigch Cellars, then enjoy a wine-tasting and lunch experience. Or, for something a little different, in Rovinj meet the family who pioneered the art of truffle-hunting in the region and explore the Motovun forest in search of the famous delicacy.

Greece
Learn all about what goes into signature Greek dishes from a local chef on the beautiful island of Rhodes or head to Santorini for local wine-making experience, where you’ll learn all about the art, taste the vintages for yourself and enjoy lunch.

France
If Sete is a port of call on your cruise, you’ll have the opportunity to venture out to Montpellier and the ancient city of Aigues-Mortes and the Languedoc wine-making region, as well as indulge in a spot of wine-tasting at a local winery. Or if you visit St Tropez, you can explore the beautiful town and attend a wine class, where you’ll learn all about the region’s finest vintages.
