Between the months of March and May 2018, Silversea’s coveted Silver Spirit underwent an extensive renovation and major works to lengthen the cruise ship.
The ultra-luxury, all-suite ship underwent a dry dock renovation at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Palermo, Italy, and here are the stunning results!
Silver Spirit’s outstanding transformation
The renovation took inspiration from the cruise line’s flagship, Silver Muse, which boasts spacious outdoor areas and a wealth of technological enhancements.

During the process, Silver Spirit was cut in half and a pre-built 49-foot mid-section was inserted to increase the space on-board and provide enhanced amenities for Silversea’s guests.
The pool deck on deck nine is one of the major changes made on Silver Spirit, now with a large beach area added and more room for guests to relax on the sun deck.

Throughout the ship, many stylish décor enhancements have been implemented which have vastly improved the ship’s layout and public spaces. Restaurants have been reformatted to an eight-restaurant layout, with the addition of Atlantide, Indochine, Spaccanapoli and Silver Note – as seen on Silver Muse.

Other public spaces which have undergone changes include The Bar, which is now Dolce Vita – a glamourous spot to relax and enjoy a drink while listening to a live pianist. Also new to Silver Spirit is the Arts Café which invites guests to enjoy art exhibitions and reading materials in a stylish environment. The Arts Café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, promoting a relaxing ambience and comfortable getaway.

Accommodation is another area which was upgraded, ensuring that the exceptional standard of Silversea was maintained throughout. Within the Silver Spirit accommodations guests can enjoy spacious suites with ocean views, personalised butler service, complimentary premium wines and spirits, in-suite bar stocked with personalised preferences, unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi and in-suite 24-hour dining service.

Silver Spirit’s new lease of life

Silver Spirit is now sailing in Northern Europe for the remainder of the summer, offering a series of mostly seven-day voyages between Copenhagen and Stockholm. In the autumn and winter months, she will venture to the coastlines of Canada and New England.
