Will my cabin have tea and coffee making facilities?
Not as far as luxury cruise lines go, because by the nature of the five or six star service, 24-hour room service means you’ll be able to order tea or coffee to your room whenever you wish. You can always order hot water from room service if you have your own tea and/or coffee and hot beverages are always available at the ship’s bars and restaurants. Luxury suites and staterooms tend to use the space which could otherwise be dedicated to tea and coffee making facilities for more upscale amenities such as flatscreen TVs, minibars, ipod docking stations and sound systems. A large number of cruise lines do not allow any electrical items with a heat element on-board for safety reasons, as part of their policy, and this includes kettles and coffee making machines. However, there are a number of mainstream lines which offer tea and coffee-making facilities in some or all of their staterooms and suites, such as P&O Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Fred.Olsen, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Cruise and Maritime.
