Windstar’s classy Monaco Grand Prix cruises

Luxury yacht cruise line Windstar cruises has recently announced two of its most glamorous sailings for next year; a pair of cruises which visit the legendary Monaco Grand Prix, one of Formula One’s most prestigious events.

Passengers can choose from either a Grand Prix-themed voyage on May 21 on-board the Star Pride or a May 20 sailing on board Wind Surf, which includes a Grand Prix excursion package.

The line’s Chief Executive Officer, Hans Birkholz, said: “Windstar’s Grand Prix of Monaco packages offer the ideal opportunity for guests to cruise through all the pleasures of the Riviera combined with a chance to take part in one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world. These experiences are just another way Windstar is able to bring its guests closer to the local flavor of each region we sail to.”

Giving passengers the chance to get right in the heart of the action, the Grand Prix-themed cruise, hosted by former Formula One pit reporter John Bisignano, includes Grand Stand seats for the 24 May qualifying races and for the May 25 finals. Passengers will also be able to attend a post-race cocktail reception held in Monte Carlo’s opulent Hotel de Paris and an on-board Grand Prix dinner and gift package.

Wind Surf’s ‘Yachting the Riviera’ sailing also offers passengers to attend the qualifiers and finals, by way of a Grand Prix excursion package, which also includes an on-board cocktail reception and Grand Prix gift package.

The suit-only Star Pride is the line’s newest yacht, and will make her debut voyage in the same month as the Monte Carlo sailing. Wind Surf is the line’s largest vessel and its flagship, catering for 310 guests.

Held in the streets of Monaco itself since it was first held in 1929, the Monaco Grand Prix, is widely regarded as one of Formula One’s most challenging tracks.
